In the late eighties the novella the Body was adapted into a movie named Stand By Me.
PLOT:
The novella the Body is about four best friends in the late sixties. One day, one of them hears on the news about a missing body in the woods. They have nothing better to do so they tell their parents they are camping out in their yard but actually go on an adventure to look for the body.
MAIN CHARACTERS
Gordie- Gordie is a mild mannered twelve year old boy. His brother was recently killed in a fatal car crash and everyone knows his parents liked his brother much more than Gordie.
Vern- Vern is a cautious and in a way kind of wimpy twelve year old boy.
Chris- Chris is considered a tough twelve year old boy. his father is always drunk and even though he seems like a tough kid he has inside of him a very insecure thoughtful kid.
Teddy- Teddy is a another twelve year old boy. His father abused him and got sent to a institution in which Teddy visits him every week. Even though Teddy knows his father almost killed him he still looks up to him and is so proud that he stormed the beaches of Normandy.
REVIEW:
The Body is a fantastic book. You may not like it if you really like fiction and a lot of action but if you're like me and don't care if their is action and fantasy you will love this book. It will also make you think about who your your true friends are and also about the greatest times of your life. I think that almost anyone would love this book.
